BURUNDI: CURRENT OPPOSITION.

(DAM, NY, - 22/03/2006 - AGNEWS)

In a representative democracy like ours, to have political "and" social "democratic oppositions" is a major requirement. The  burundi's citizens must be delighted by this opportunity.

It is only for some time where one sees stinging the existence of a gleam of burundeses opponents. Is this because of many disappointed to be forgotten?

It does not matter, the new burundese government only found itself in the national actions, and, that became increasingly worrying for the establishment of true a Democracy in Burundi.

Which is thus this opposition? One classifies it in three parts.

The first, of course, political democratic opposition. It is currently carried out by the ex- rebel NYANGOMA Léonard, which is the representative of political party CNDD. This organization has mainly partisans coming from the South of the country. Burundi leaves quasi total forty years gouvernance people coming from the South the country (province of BURURI).

The second opposition, which one would have tendency to describe as "social", is rather still "political". It is incarnée by league ITEKA (*), the LDGL, the OAG, OLUCOME, ISANGANIRO, RPA... It was installation during the civil war by strategy of the UPRONA in order to channel the international funds which could only return by the multilateral way. It was used for the political fight for the UPRONA.

Not with the Burundaise Extreme-Right-hand side The third, which is undemocratic, is that the extreme ethnical  burundese  line .  The extreme burundese Hutu  line  is incarnée by Fnl-palipehutu, military - political   movement  which wishes to negotiate with the government current.  Most visible politically is the extreme burundese Tutsi  line. It plays primarily on the ethnical side. One finds it in the media with NETPRESS or BONESHA, sometimes with the RTNB, but, also more structured within the organizations like AC GENOCIDE and PA AMASEKANIYA. Its structuring was made possible by the UPRONA during the civil war.

Note :

(*)  ITEKA was becoming from  UPRONA  at the end of 1995.
